Hello my lovelies,

Hope you all are doing great. I have a few updates about the blog and my life sooo lets get started! First of all I have made a university/college guide on my page. It is added for those who need advice or started a new year so I hope this helps. I just want to say its from my perspective on what has helped me and things I have gained over the years. Everyone is different but I thought I should make it a fun project for you all! Also I may be rearranging my blog too a bit so stay stunned by how that will look like, no drastic change but I may be removing and reordering things around the blog so it looks more aesthetic!

Second I had a huge reunion with my friends! It was genuinely so nice to see everyone and we all ate good food, talked too much, and laughed too! As you can see I took a lot of pictures and gossipped so MUCH it was honestly sooo funnn! Seeing everyone thriving and doing amazing things in their lives made me so happy. All of us are going to be busy again so I have no idea when we are going to meet again :( 

Also guys I have posted my BOOK MAIL a few days ago so check it out! It is all the books bought for my university course. AND AND I have finally got my timetable! FINALLLYY! However it is a lot shorter than I thought, a lot of days I only have 1 lesson which to me is like why????? Especially if travelling to university everyday for just 1 lesson seems such a waste but I hope the lessons are worth it. I am going to be making a uni schedule on Notion soon so that I can keep track of all the things I need to do! 

BY THE WAY WHAT THE HECK IS THIS SHOW???!!! Because seriously, this guy is a true definition of a psychopath. I'm currently on Season 4 and it keeps getting more intriguing to know the main character. His way of thinking is baffling but to get a match of him is making him so frightened... This show is a roller coaster and the characters are very interesting if I say so myself. The main character's name is Joe and his articulation and the way he speaks everything in his head is so FREAKKYYY its kinda scary to know people out there are exactly like this... 

Anyways tomorrow I may be buying my clothes for university I'm not so sure yet and on Friday is my MUMS BIRTHDAY WOOOOOOOOOOO. I'm so excited we will be going out and having a party just between family. I have gotten her gifts and I will be buying her cake so I hope she loves it!! I have another update but that deserves a post on its own! So my lovelies enjoy your day wherever in the world you are and I'll be in and out of this blog :)

Friends Hangout Reunion

Hey lovelies,

Hope yall are doing good! I have so much to say so hang on tight there is a lot of stuff that I am going to be talking about today!! First of all this picture to the left, took it 2 years ago I think and I just rediscovered it in my Pinterest folder as I have forgotten that I uploaded this! Gotta say my hair was SLAYING!!!! I am going to be doing this hairstyle again soon and I will post an updated version of it. Also that folder in my Pinterest of all of my uploaded photos, should I update it and add more aesthetic photos in it because I have way moreeeee and much prettier photos too of the city, food and my life so do let me know... 

Second thing, THANK YOU TO ALL OF MY FOLLOWERS WHO HAVE FOLLOWED MY BLOG. In the lifespam of me making this blog (a month now I assume) I did not expect it to grow so much. By seeing all the comments left by you guys, it really does bring a smile on the face to see how kind you all are. Also some of yall who are readers or writers even, its nice seeing some projects come together and creativity flowing! Its amazing to know others out there also share the same passion is truly amazing. BY THE WAY some of yalls blog are soo GOOODDDDD, everyone is so unique and it truly fits everyone's aesthetics and the one thing I like is that everyone has their own style which I LOVE! 

Thirdly, considering I create a lot of post online for my bookstagram, I am learning new editing techniques everyday. All of these images I have added on to this post have been edited and framed. Its an amazing app called KAPI CAM. I know its available for apple users not sure for everyone else but essentially this app allows you to put filters on your pictures as though they have the digital effects. They mimick the vintage phone effects (such as Nokia, SR45 Konica), different types of cameras over time (such as FSA,Cameo) and MANY MORE. For those who love editing pictures and making them have that old, vintage or even 2000s feeling DOWNLOAD THIS APP. You can add frames just like I have done, they also have transitions like movie cameras but are very limited and have some powerful effects but yet limited too. So for all of you wanting those IT INSTAGRAM PICTURES or 2000s VIBE AGAIN DOWNLOAD THE APP! 

Lastly ALL MY UNI BOOKS FOR MY COURSE HAVE BEEN ORDERED and only 1/4 of them have been delivered. I will be posting a BOOK HAUL on my instagram but I will also link it to my blog. Essentially it is all the texts I need to study over my 2nd year. Shakespeare, Bronte, Douglas,Whiteman, Hardy and many more! I have also done some of the summer reading and studying for some of these books but now I have the physical copy, ANNOTATIONS will be made in the books and ANALYSIS too! Oddly I'm excited but also because I chose some of my modules this year which makes it even better. The book haul will be posted either Friday or Saturday considering the books are being delivered on different days so yeahhh :) I JUST NEED MY TIMETABLE BECAUSE WHY DO UNIVERSITIES RELEASE THEM SOOOOO LATE... And the smell of new books, UH AMAAZIINGGGGGGGG. Nothing beats it. 

Also I am gonna be buying new clothes for the Autumn and Winter season so stay alert for my collages and fit checks! I will be doing a Summer recap and tweaking my blog a bit more!! I hope yall like the blog I have created and the interactive are fun and innovative for yall to use. Anyways, collages and book reviews will be posted in a few days considering I have studying and reunions to get too. Might be going to a lunch to reunite with my friends on Thursday which I know its gonna be so FUNNN and gonna be meeting up with my bestie for the last time before she travels back to her univeristy. And darling, you really should have known better than to trust a group of classic students who spend their days discussing Greek tragedy and their nights keeping secrets. This is a dark academia at its most deliciously unhinged setting with beautiful surroundings, complicated friendships, intellectual obsession and of course, a murder nobody is supposed to talk about. What starts as an alluring world of literature, philosophy and privilege slowly turns into something much darker. So pour yourself a drink, settle into the library and try not to ask too many questions. After all, some secrets are better left buried.

Hope yall are having a good day! I had a great day with my parents. Went out to eat good food, had a GREAT TOFFEE CARAMEL LATTE, it actually wasn't that sweet which I liked. I also went to see some books but unfortunately didn't buy any because I already owned them or they didn't interest me AHHH... 

Also took some pictures for my Instagram story and I will be using them for future bookish posts! Anyways I am keeping myself busy. Studying my summer reading list for uni has been such a treat to me, I didn't think Shakespeare had THAT MANY PLAYS AND ADAPTATIONS. People love taking inspiration from him and modernising it which is a unique approach I guess... Gotta say though some were actually good and I don't mind watching plays they are entertaining when the actors don't dramatise too much.                

I also want to add to my journal. It's more of a fun approach I took this journal, not the ones where you write a lot but on the creative side. I need to do recaps of music, the books I've read and add some drawings too. Should I show my drawings here let me know! I also need to update my scrapbook it's been a while... Anyways I need to make to-do list and I'll be back soon.

Hope you all are having a great day!

I just applied to my first job ever. To be a seller in a bookstore. Not much but its a start and plus being a university student I need a job that would be much more flexible and enjoyable. Hopefully I get in. 

I also went out with my friends yesterday. Actually nice and so much fun. We were mostly gossiping rather than shopping. We ate good food and did lots of walking but it was nice to catch up with friends since everyone is in different universities. 

I also need to work on my novel. Its harder than I anticipated but RESILIENCE ORIANA YOU GOT THIS! Did some studying and some of my reading to go but its a WHOLE LIST, at least 20 books are so fun YAYYYY...

Long time no talk!Hope everyone is alright and it's been some time since I have updated you all so lets get into it! 

I have been studying my summer reading for my university courses. It has not been easy trust me. Mostly Shakespeare and Jane Austen considering its one of the few I may enjoy when studying. However my course is making me do Romeo and Juliet again SO NO. I swear to god this text has been SOOOOOO over-studied, its becoming annoying and quite frankly I'm so done with the couple in the book but hey I am not given another choice but to study it again... 

Oh and tomorrow I'm having a small reunion with some of my friends. Collages will be posted tomorrow. Only some of my sixth form friends are coming unfortunately but I will be having another picnic reunion the week after which should be exciting!! Also I will be able to catch up with everyone AND buy my mother's present. Her birthday is soon and that's the top of my priority right now; I just hope I can find her something nice. 

I have been reading more and posting more of my reviews. For the first time I have done a negative review and for some reason feel therapeutic to say the least... I don't know how that feels but it's all opinionated so its up for discussion if people have actually read the book. OH and I also sold some books too. Usually I would not do that but considering I know I will never read them EVER AGAIN I decided to get a good price on it and I'm happy I'm getting my money's worth.

Oh and not that long until September starts I swear this year has zooomeddd by so quick, we will be over Halloween and Christmas to the New Year! I actually can't wait for Autumn to arrive It's actually painful. The UK weather is not for the weak and I never said I liked Summer. More of an Autumn and Winter type of girly. Anyways, tomorrow collages and pictures will be uploaded and with another blog too!

My mother never said

be careful with sadness, 

but I watched how she handled it - 

not as something heavy, 

but something that could spill

if carried carelessly. 

In the kitchen, between the kettle's rising breath

and the click of the gas turning off, 

she would stop - 

not fully still, 

just enough to pass through her face

and disappear again. 

A flicker, 

gone before it could be named. 

An emotion perhaps? 

I learned it like that, 

not in words, 

but in timing. 

How that small silence can be placed

between two ordinary sentences 

and alter them completely. 

How a voice can continue

while something else

waits just beneath it. 

Is it normal? 

Before I could realise

I do it now too. 

Mid conversation, 

mid laugh

I feel it arrives. 

That careful pause, 

that quiet adjustment, 

as if I am setting something down

no one else could see. 

It is not quite sadness. 

Not anymore. 

It is sharp it leaves behind, 

a habit of holding, 

a way of moving through the day

without disturbing what rests underneath. 

And sometimes I wonder, 

is this how it continues? 

Not passed from hand to hand, but carried forward,

It's been a while, hope yall are doing good :) I will be posting soon on the HOT PEOPLE READS section so look out for that! Updates on my life, been reading way more and I am already halfway through this book called Dante by Sadie Kincaid. Honestly the beginning of this book is way too much for me but its one of those books where as soon as you put it down, you need to pick it right up straight away to know what happens next. It's definitely a spicy and dark book but hopefully I like it towards the end. Its the kidnapper and the kidnapped type of thing, I guess its good in a way to show the unexpected but if you were to study and put logic to this book, not a good look at all :( Honestly I am all for a dark, all consuming romance but this one is really ticking me off as the main character is shown to just use his kidnapped. I am very confused but want to know what happens at the end of the story. Anyways, it is part of a series so maybe I will get the rest of the books to understand the plot... 

Another thing, I have bought word search puzzles. I've forgotten how much I actually love them and plus they are good for the brain so woooo! I have already completed 5 of them since yesterday and I find them very funnnnnn! 

What else can I say, OHH I need to actually start doing my uni reading in preparation for the school year starting September. I have to buy books, (SO MANY BOOKS) I take 4 class and one of them is for creative writing which I have no books to buy for. The rest of my classes I do. So tomorrow I need to make a list of all the books I need to buy and actually order them before university starts. I think my classes are fun this year too and I also have work placement which I am actually excited for. 

AND my brain is all over the place, I WANT TO do everything. So far, the hobbies I actually consider hobbies are writing poetry/stories, scrapbooking (which I haven't done in so long considering I have to print all the pictures out) painting/drawing which hopefully I am going to paint one of my jars tomorrow to make a flower vase, reading (OBVIOUSLY I don't know why I didn't put that first, and now content creation too. By blogging and doing stuff for my bookstagram, its keeping me busy which I am okay with.

What else I have been keeping up to date with my Pinterest and I realised that I have stuff posted there since last year (I think) which I have completely forgotten about... OHHHH AND I will be buying my outfits for university soon which is the most exciting of them all! AND COFFEE! Coffee has been my holy grail lately and every morning Im having a huge cup of that which mostly last during the day but today I had two. I don't think that's healthy BUT OKAY! 

Anyways hope yall are having a good day, later on will be posting some other stuff on here. I was suppose to do a collage and poem which I will do and will be adding to the hot people reads tab too. 

Okay I am gonna go have dinner now then do ALL OF THAT AFTER!

Book Review

What are you guys up to? Just wanted to share some updates on things, I didn't think this blog would have grown to the extent but it has so thanks to all the kind comments. Seeing all of your guys blogs is really cool, everyone has their own aesthetic, vibe, animations and personality that it all makes it unique! 

Second, a bit random, but the weather IN THE UK. I just know if it rains the humidity would riseeeeeeeee... I just want it to be Autumn that way I can actually attend uni as I don't start until September, the outfits I have planned can ACTUALLY be worn and just the vibe in general. Going to class with friends with my book bag, coffee in hand and in my cute outfits. I will be sharing when the time comes soo there's something to be excited about. 

Third, I wanted to show my coffee yesterday and look at how dark it is. People are telling me its a bit concerning and considering I did not sleep last night and ended up going to sleep until 5AM this morning, yeah... I just couldn't sleep. I have so many projects that I have been juggling at the same time has been crazyyyyy! Anyways let me show you:

 

I like the taste of coffee. And my favourite coffee is a caramel iced latte and in fact I am having one now as I speak, or type I should say. 

Fourth, I am officially on the second season of Gossip Girls. I have completely forgotten how much DRAMA there was on that show and the ending of the season was dramatic. Question do you think Serena and Dan could have avoided the break up if she JUST TOLD HIM THE TRUTH? Oh and what do we think of Lily and Rufus... honestly everytime they try to get together something just HAPPENSSSS AHHHH.

Fifth, I have posted a new Instagram post! Imma show you the first page so check it out there!! It was honestly fun to make but IT TOOK SO LONG AND SO MUCH EDITING since I made it from scratch. The maths and numbers with me are not friends ahaha :) Anyways this is how it looks: 

I am actually proud of this. Its very different from what I am used too but hopefully I can make more content like this since some of yall are really into romantasy and I am just starting to read some books of that trope. I am more of a romance girly myself and fantasy never really caught my eye until now. 

I am also going out later for grocery shopping and maybeeee go on a walk with my sister after.

Anyways, later on I may post a poem or a collage or both if I'm feeling generous today :) I will still be tweaking the blog and be adding more animations to liven it up a bit but yeah hope you all have a nice day!!

I've seen all of you're guys comments and you all are so SWEETTTT!! I will be checking out all of the blogs today so bear with me, it will take some time. Anyways for all of you waiting for book recommendations, I will be updating the HOT PEOPLE READS and can I just say that DAYBREAK book by Autumn Woods, the couple in there in the beginning are breaking my heart but  just know they will sort this major problem out. 

Another update which I am so excited about and have been waiting for WEEKS is that STRAY KIDS released their new album today and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I am a fan of their music... well I will be updating the Hot people reads page and possibly putting another collage of my life. Possibly today I will be making something for my instagram too! 

I'll be giving an update on my read too and see what else I can be adding to this blog to make it cuter. Possibly new widgets for you all to interact with. Oh and I stayed up last night watching Gossip Girls which I am watching for the second time. Unpopular opinion, perhaps I'm still getting used to watching the show again after all these years, but why is BLAIR SO NASTY. Its like you are eternally screaming at the TV DON'T BE RUDE, THINK BEFORE DOING SOMETHING. 

OHH and the HOT PEOPLE READS, I'm writing like a gossip girl would sound like if some of yall have noticed so that was a fun experiment. I may do that again today...

READING UPDATE

 HEY GUYS, 

I have a reading update. Those who follow my instagram knowsss that I have already read the first book of the Sorrowsong university series and now I finally got book two in the mail so I'm going to start this tonight! HOWEVER, that first book ending is just WHYYYYYYYYYY. The couple were doing so well why did it end like this. I was actually tortured for 2 days waiting for the next book to arrive to I can 1 complete the series and 2 know what happens next. 

Also the art in the book, INCREDIBLE! The characters are actually my favourite and the BANTER within the text messages and emails are HILARIOUS! Honestly if you haven't read Nightshade yet I HIGHLY suggest you go do so. 

FWI there will be a review on both the books but in the mean time I'M GONNA be reading and tracking on my fable app. I recently downloaded this app and it is honestly amazing. Love how you can the pages and books I've read so far and connect with people who have the same passion as me.

Borrowed Silence

 So this poem, I am very proud of and I want to know what you think? 

💙⃝🦋 Borrowed Silence 💙⃝🦋

Everywhere I go, I carry a silence that isn't mine. 

It sits on me like a borrowed coat - 

too heavy on the shoulders, 

sleeves that swallow my arms, 

lined with the faint smell of someone else's grief. 

Obvious it wasn't mine to keep. 

It was given without ceremony: 

a glance that lingered, 

a pause that said: take this. 

I folded it close, 

hid it like a letter I was never meant to open. 

That type of silence is different from peace. 

Peace has wings, light, freedom. 

This silence has stones; ragged bones and rocks. 

It sinks and drowns me when I speak, 

it tightens at the collar when I laugh, 

reminding me how easily a voice can be covered. 

So, I learned how to live around it, 

how to tilt my ribs so it wouldn't bruise me as badly. 

How to walk without shrugging it off quickly. 

How to smile without shaking the echoes loose, 

or how to keep still so it wouldn't slip so easily. 

And most of all how to answer softly when the world asked for sound. 

That type of unspoken silence, settles its name into your mouth, 

teaches the tongue new hesitations, 

makes even the smallest of truths ask for permission. 

Yet when you wear something for far too long, 

it eventually begins to feel like yours. 

The lining warms.

The weight settles. 

Even the very silence learns the shape of your body. 

But some nights, I try to return it. 

I stand at the edge of the very memory

and call out to whoever dropped it. 

There was no one waiting. 

Only the echo of what was left behind. 

A lingering shadow. 

So I begin, slowly

to unfasten it. 

One button at a time.

Then another. 

Air reaches my throat and I feel my shoulders lift. 

I slid the coat from my arms 

and leave it where it was taken. 

Not discarded, 

but released. 

If I keep my silence now, let it be chosen. 

Let it be quiet after rain, 

the breath before singing, 

the pause that belongs to me - 

not borrowed, not owned

but mine. 

 

Some people collect designer bags. Others collect secrets. If We Were Villains by M.L.Rio is proof that the most dangerous thing you can wear is ambition. For this blog to be interactable I will be putting prompt and conversation ideas so that you guys can comment and talk with me and others in the chats.  Hopefully this will be fun for you all and I won't be boring plus feel free to be yourself here because honestly I love getting to know you guys better and I hope my shared space is as much fun for you guys too! :)

Book Lover's Life is my little corner of the internet, created to share my life, book reviews, favourite reads, journaling and poetry. This corner will have thought-provoking quotes, poetry written by me and updates on any writing I have done in the past!

Hey guys, I thought I could go in depth of myself. I'm currently a university student in the UK studying English Literature and Creative Writing. 

My MBTI is INFJ, not a lot of people know that and think I am an extrovert, I really am not... 

I'm a VERY clumsy person haha and I love puppies and also have a very sweet tooth. I love solo trips so you'll be seeing collages of trips I'll be going too and have an addiction to coffee It's terrible. 

I also love to read, OBVIOUS I KNOW, and write poetry too. I am currently writing my debut novel but I also love anything to do with creativity such as art, scrapbooking and journaling!
